Is it necessary to write answers in serial order in CA exams?

The answer is simple, NO! The sequential order is not necessary to be followed in the exam. Instead, you must adopt the style of answering as you find it most comfortable and favourable for yourself. Any examiner or the marker would like to read the right answers, of course! You tend to put a fine impression at the examiner when writing all the correct answers and getting a good score. If you know all your answers, go with the serial order of the questions. However, if you are dicey about certain aspects, prefer going with the correct answers at the initial.
Alternative approach to support my reason would be to save your time. As you know exam stands on two aspects, accuracy and time management. In case, you believe certain answers are going to take huge chunk of time, save them for the last. The questions for which the answers are in your mind or are easy to attempt, kindly attempt those first. This will not only save your score but you will be relaxed while attempting the complicated problems.
But remember if you started say Q No. 2 in starting then all parts of Q No. 2 must be at one place. Say there are three parts in Q No 2 i.e. 2(a), 2(b) and 2(c). You must solve all parts before starting next Q. But you may solve in any sequence like 2(b), 2(c) and 2(a) etc. internal sequence is not required. Now what if you are dicey about answer of Q 2(b) or 2(c) or 2(a) then leave space for that part and start next Q.
In the nutshell, order is not a priority. The sequence is your choice as this will not only get you marks but also save your time.

How to manage work and study during the articleship?

Padhi Likhi Advice:
Management is an intrinsic attribute which will help you to handle academics and the training altogether. My simple advices on this would be as follows:

• Never occupy your day with rigorous learning and pressure. A hectic brain always finds reasons to give up so you need adequate rest.
• Make a time-table for yourself. I know, this sounds cliché, but trust me, it works!
• Give yourself enough break after the office. Now this does not mean to use the gadgets when free because that may relax your misconceptions, however your eyes and brain will be heavily tired.
• After office, when you sit to study, start with a subject you have an interest in. Never pick up difficult subjects when you have a tired brain.
• If you travel on a public vehicle, watch videos related to your subjects, this will add to your knowledge without any extra efforts. Listening to music is generally what people do; this can be done in your break-time.

When at office, focus and finish assignments, there itself. Avoid procrastination and work at home because you need to study religiously then.

Thodi Desi Advice:

• In first year of articleship don’t study any subject of CA final.
• First Year of articleship: Focus on practical work and make as much links as possible.
• 2nd year of articleship: Start and complete Cost and SFM in first 6 months
• Now Start and complete Audit and FR in balance 6 months
• 3rd Year of articleship: Opt for any good test series (UNCRAM Test Series mast hai boss) for these 4 subjects. CA Final Test series will help you to stay amended and prepare well.

Now apply to CA Boss for holidays (chutti ke lie) and start preparing DT, IDT, Law and Optional Subject (Now full time study).

What are the advantages of taking both groups together?

The merits are ample.

To begin with, you save your time. Attempting both the groups, save you about 6 months during IPCC, due to which you can begin you articleship early and thus benefiting you with your CA-FINAL.

Secondly, you have a benefit of your aggregate marks. For instance: a student scores less than 50% in first group and more than 50% in the second, the marks can be collaborated to give you a total score of 400. Thus, this will declare you a clearing aspirant.

Apart from this, success of scoring a rank only comes to those who appear for both the groups. Indeed, rank holders can be exclusively the people who attempt and clear both the groups altogether. Give yourself that honour by doing so!

Last but not the least; you become a deserving recruitee in the corporate world. Who doesn’t wish to hire such a person who managed both the groups and carries such extraordinary knowledge and skills!

Rank is possible in both groups only

Prepare 4 subjects very strongly for exemption target and manage only 40 in rest 4.

Easy to crack both groups together due to economies of scale. Let me give an example to you: Score 240+ in one group and 160+ in second group
Articleship is possible in Big4

Job is easy

Is the study material provided by ICAI sufficient?

Padhi Likhi Advice:

You listen to different things every day. Can any material provide extensive knowledge and detailed learning? People claim certain books to be better than others.
Reading has no bounds and therefore for your personal satisfaction and in order to enhance your horizons of knowledge, read as much as you want.
However, putting it frankly, YES! The material provided by ICAI is sufficient. If you have gone through those books, you will find them comprehensive, explaining the facts and logics. At the top of it, always practice the sample answers provided to you repeatedly. These will benefit you tremendously in the exams. Advising from my personal experience, certain questions directly come from the ICAI material in the examination. That can get you brownie points!

How to prepare for rank in CA exams?

I have few effective, feasible and rational suggestions to provide:

• Strategize your preparation plan
• Punctuality and dedication have to be constant companions. Always be honest to your time-table and do not compromise with that.
• ICAI study material is a must. All the RTPs, mock test papers, suggested answers, practice modules, everything has to be thoroughly done.
• Always remember, if you think you will study after the completion of your coaching, then it is a big mistake. Be regular with your concepts and notes. You will not remember everything later.
• Obviously, for a rank, both the groups are your target. So, you need to manage all the subjects with equal approach.

One golden advice, manage one easy subject with a difficult one. This will not give you a reason to give up, keep your interest active and help you complete your syllabus easily.

See, there is no confirm route of getting rank in CA. After teaching experience of 4 years I can assure you one thing that no rank holder even know before its rank that he or she will be getting rank.
Only benefit of preparing for rank is that you can’t fail in CA if you have prepared for rank.

Way of preparation is solve one book 3 to 4 times with concept clarity and little bit cramming wherever it requires.
Complete 90% syllabus with 100% confidence rather than covering 100% syllabus with low confidence.
